As I sat at the judge’s bench, the realization of who I truly was sunk into the minds of everyone present. The gallery was filled with a heavy silence, punctuated only by the shuffling of papers and the occasional clearing of a throat. Alejandro shifted uncomfortably, his eyes widening in disbelief. He had underestimated me, as had his mistress and his mother. This was not the day they had planned.
I cleared my throat and spoke, my voice steady and firm. “Good morning, everyone. I apologize for the delay, but I assure you it was necessary.” I looked directly at Alejandro, whose face was now a mix of shock and anger. “As you may now realize, there have been a few changes in how we will proceed today.”
Valeria’s face turned pale, and she looked to Alejandro for support, but he offered none. Patricia, usually so composed, seemed to falter as she searched for the assurance that she was losing.
“I understand you all came here expecting a simple divorce hearing,” I continued, “but today, we are going to address some additional matters that have come to light.”
I watched as murmurs spread among the crowd. The lawyers exchanged nervous glances, and some of them began to frantically sift through their documents, realizing they were missing something crucial.
The evidence I had gathered over the years was now on display before the court. The emails, the financial transactions, and all the other incriminating evidence were presented. I could see Alejandro’s confidence crumble as each piece of evidence was unfolded.
The room was tense with anticipation. Valeria’s bravado was gone, replaced by a desperate anxiety. Patricia looked like she was about to faint. Even Alejandro’s lawyers seemed to lose their composure, scrambling to find a way to salvage their case.
I addressed the court with calm authority. “The Salazar family has attempted to manipulate the truth and disregard the law. However, today, we uphold justice, and the truth will be heard.”
As I spoke, I felt a sense of liberation. For so long, I had been living in the shadows, allowing them to believe they held the power. But now, I was in control, and they were at my mercy.
The proceedings continued, and as we delved deeper into the evidence, it became clear that Alejandro and his family had not anticipated this turn of events. Their misdeeds were laid bare for all to see, and their carefully constructed façade was rapidly unraveling.
By the time the session ended, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Salazars were facing serious consequences for their actions. Alejandro’s expression was one of defeat, Valeria’s arrogance was shattered, and Patricia’s smugness had turned to despair.
As the court adjourned, I stood from the bench, dignity intact, and prepared to leave. I paused before departing and addressed those present one last time. “This was only the beginning,” I said, my voice resonating with promise. “The full extent of justice has yet to be served.”
I left the courtroom, knowing that this was not the end. There was more to uncover, more of their secrets to expose. The fight was far from over.
