My Brother Saw My CT Scan, Then Exposed the Crime My Husband Had Hidden for

Caleb closed the door behind me and gestured for me to sit down. Dr. Park offered a reassuring nod, but her expression remained serious. My mind raced as I settled into the chair, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me.

“Maren,” Caleb began gently, “we found something on your CT scan.”

My stomach clenched with fear. “What did you find?”

He took a deep breath. “There’s a small device implanted in your abdomen. It’s not something that should be there.”

I stared at him, trying to comprehend his words. “A device? What kind of device?”

Caleb exchanged a glance with Dr. Park before answering. “It appears to be some kind of tracking device, Maren.”

A rush of disbelief and confusion flooded through me. “A tracking device? How… why would that be there?”

Dr. Park spoke up, her voice calm but firm. “We’ve seen cases like this before, usually involving domestic surveillance. Someone may have wanted to monitor your movements.”

The room spun slightly as I processed this information. “Are you saying Trent did this?”

Caleb’s expression was a mix of anger and concern. “We can’t jump to conclusions yet, but given what you’ve told me and what we found, it’s a possibility we can’t ignore.”

I felt a burning sensation in my chest, a mix of betrayal and sadness. The man I had been married to for twelve years, the one who seemed perfect on the outside, might have been invading my privacy in the most intimate way possible.

“What do we do now?” I asked, my voice trembling.

“We need to remove it,” Caleb said firmly. “And I want you to talk to the authorities about this. It’s important that we handle this carefully.”

I nodded, trying to steady my breathing. “Okay.”

Dr. Park moved closer, placing a gentle hand on my shoulder. “You’re in a safe place here, Maren. We’ll help you through this.”

I felt a flicker of relief at her words, but my mind kept returning to Trent. How could he do this? Why would he do this? I thought back to all those times he insisted on taking me to different doctors, his controlling behavior disguised as concern.

Caleb must have seen the turmoil on my face because he said, “We’ll get to the bottom of this, Maren. I promise.”

The next hours were a blur. I underwent surgery to have the device removed, and afterward, I sat with Caleb in a quiet room, sipping water and trying to process everything. My phone buzzed with messages from Trent, but I didn’t have the strength to read them.

As the afternoon turned into evening, Caleb stayed by my side, offering the comfort of family when everything else felt uncertain. I realized how grateful I was to have him in my corner.

“This isn’t over,” Caleb said quietly. “But you’re not alone, okay?”

I nodded, tears welling in my eyes. “Thank you, Caleb. For everything.”

He gave a small smile. “You’re my sister. I’ll always look out for you.”

As I prepared to leave the hospital, Caleb walked me to the door. “We’ll need to meet with the police soon,” he reminded me.

“I know,” I replied, feeling a sense of resolve building inside me. “I’m ready.”

Caleb squeezed my hand. “Take care tonight. We’ll figure this out.”

As I left the hospital, I knew that my life was about to change drastically. I had a long road ahead, full of questions and difficult answers. But for the first time in a long time, I felt a glimmer of hope that I might finally uncover the truth.
