Part 2:
After a week in the hospital, I was finally strong enough to sit up and speak with my father. Adrian Cross had stayed by my side the entire time, his presence a comforting reminder that Victor’s plans hadn’t succeeded. My baby, whom I named Noah, was still fighting but growing stronger each day. Together, my father and I began planning how we would confront Victor and bring him to justice.
Adrian had connections everywhere, and he was determined to use them to protect us. He had already contacted law enforcement and began gathering evidence against Victor and Serena. Photos, phone records, bank statements—anything that could prove their betrayal and clear my name.
One afternoon, Adrian sat by my bed with a folder in his hands. “Elena,” he said gently, “I’ve found something.”
I nodded, wincing as a sharp pain flared through my ribs. “What is it?”
He opened the folder, revealing documents and photos. “Victor has been hiding his assets overseas. He planned to disappear with Serena as soon as he got the insurance money.”
I looked at the photos, my heart aching with betrayal. “I trusted him,” I whispered.
Adrian squeezed my hand. “We’ll make sure he pays for what he did. But first, we need to keep you and Noah safe.”
As the days passed, I worked on regaining my strength with the help of the hospital staff. I slowly learned to walk again, my fractured wrist healing, the cuts on my body becoming scars—a testament to my survival. The thought of confronting Victor filled me with dread, but I knew it was necessary. I wanted to protect my son and ensure he grew up in a world where people like Victor couldn’t hurt us.
Finally, the day arrived when I was strong enough to leave the hospital. Adrian had arranged for a safe house where we could stay while the investigation continued. As we drove away from the hospital, I held Noah close, grateful for his tiny heart beating against mine.
At the safe house, agents and lawyers buzzed around, preparing for the legal battle ahead. Adrian and I sat together, discussing the upcoming confrontation with Victor. I practiced what I would say, imagining his face when he realized his plan had failed.
A few days later, Adrian received a call. “Victor has been summoned for questioning,” he told me, his voice filled with anticipation. “It’s time.”
We arrived at the police station, my heart pounding. I stood beside Adrian, feeling stronger with him by my side. When Victor walked in, his face twisted in confusion and shock at the sight of me standing there alive.
“Elena?” he stammered. “But how?”
I met his eyes, feeling a surge of strength. “You didn’t win, Victor. You didn’t win.”
The officers led him away, and I knew justice was finally being served. As I watched him go, I felt a sense of peace settle over me. The nightmare was ending, and a new chapter was beginning.
But this wasn’t the end of the story. There was still more to unravel, more to face, and more to reveal. If you want to read more, leave a comment below the Facebook post. Part 3 will be coming soon.
